Summary of the state of Enterprise 2.0

A lot has been going on in Enterprise 2.0 land over the past 3-4 months. I’m going to try and provide a short summary of what has happened.

Enterprise 2.0 was defined…(spring 2006)
Debate over definition of Enterprise 2.0 (summer 2006)
Enterprise 2.0 product launches start (fall 2006)
Major players (IBM, Microsoft, Intel) annouce entry into the space

I think that the quick development of Enterprise 2.0 from conception to definition to product development (soon to adoption) has been amazing. It says something for adoption of the Enterprise 2.0 movement – it’s going to be blazing fast.

Adoption of the blackberry took what..4 years? I’m hoping the adoption of Enterprise 2.0 will be quicker. As some others have said, once the benefits of Enterprise 2.0 are understood and effectively implemented, there is no turning back. This is not a fad that is going to disappear. If anything, it is going to be the next major value driver in the world of business.

When I originally commented I appear to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments
are added- checkbox and now each time a comment is added I recieve 4 emails with the same comment.
Perhaps there is an easy method you are able to remove me from that service?
